Mellon Provides Business-to-Business Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment
Mellon Global Cash Management SM announced the general availability of its Mellon TradeLinks service. Mellon successfully completed the pilot phase of the Mellon TradeLinks service, which began in early 1999. Designed to assist customers transitioning to electronic payments, Mellon TradeLinks provides billers with a completely outsourced electronic bill presentment and payment solution. Mellon TradeLinks allows a customer’s trading community to conduct business with it via quick, easy and inexpensive access to electronic data-without the need to purchase additional hardware or software. The service also provides billers with several competitive advantages. It enables cross-sell and customer-care opportunities when the customers’ trading partners access the service via the customers’ Web sites. Mellon TradeLinks also allows for flexible, online invoice adjustments and integrates EBPP data with existing accounts receivable applications. Payers benefit from Mellon TradeLinks as well by retaining control over payment timing and amount. The service houses payers’ banking information so sensitive data does not move over the Internet. Mellon TradeLinks also provides a downloadable data file for payers to import into their payables systems.
