ABN AMRO Hires Technology Team from ING Barings
ABN AMRO announced it has recruited Lars Gustavsson, formerly Global Chief Information Officer at ING Barings, for the role of Global Head of Technology in the bank’s Wholesale Clients business. Mr Gustavsson will be responsible for implementing a global IT strategy for Wholesale Clients, which was formed in January 2001 from the merger of ABN AMRO’s global investment banking and corporate banking activities. He will build on the significant progress made since the merger in both maximising the contribution and minimising the cost of IT, and will focus on delivering increased business benefits to the Wholesale Clients group. He will report to Keith Edginton, Chief Operating Officer of ‘Wholesale Clients and Head of Technology, Operations and Property Services. Also joining are two senior members of Mr Gustavsson’s team from ING Barings: Henrik Peterssen, who will be Head of Emerging Technologies, and Gösta Lidén, who is appointed Business Manager, Technology. At ING Barings, Mr Gustavsson was responsible for the group’s global IT strategy, development and operations functions. Previously he was Global Head of IT and Business Development at Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken.
