Cantor Fitzgerald Hires Gopal Varadhan as Managing Director of U.S. Derivatives Business

Cantor Fitzgerald L.P. announced the appointment of Gopal Varadhan as Managing Director of its Interest Rate Derivatives business in the U.S. In this newly created position, Mr. Varadhan will oversee all of Cantor’s U.S. interest rate derivative products, including swaps, options and futures, while working closely with Cantor’s European derivatives divisions to expand Cantor’s overall presence in global derivatives markets. Mr. Varadhan joins Cantor Fitzgerald after more than ten years of derivative trading experience in the U.S. and Europe, holding senior positions at Merrill Lynch & Co., Deutsche Bank and C.I.B.C. Woodgundy. Most recently, Mr. Varadhan founded and served as President of Sitegroups, Inc., a technology start-up focused on opportunities in targeted Internet marketing.
