Standard Chartered Bank Appoints Jim McCabe as CEO and Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking for the Americas
This new position, which will be based in New York, combines two existing positions — CEO for North America and CEO for Latin America. The appointment will be effective January 1, 2002. McCabe was previously Regional Head of Credit for North East Asia, and has been in this role since December 2000. Prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank a year ago, he was with Bank of America for 23 years, where he most recently served as President/General Director, based in Mexico. An American citizen, McCabe has held a variety of roles including Corporate Banking, Risk Management and Country Management and has broad-based product knowledge. He has lived and worked in Latin America, the United States, Taiwan, Thailand and Hong Kong, and is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese.
