Moody’s Investors Service has published a compilation of rating methodologies and special comments related to various topics on its credit analysis for sovereign nations. Christopher Mahoney, senior managing director of Moody’s Financial Institutions and Sovereign Risk Group, said: ‘The goal is to offer our clients a clear understanding of how we arrive at our sovereign credit ratings.’ Arranged in chronological order, the collection includes reports on Moody’s revised country ceiling policy and its implication for emerging market bank ratings, Moody’s local currency guidelines, the role of liquidity in our analysis, and the sources and uses of the credit statistics and ratios used by Moody’s sovereign analysts.
