Fundtech's Payment Solution Reaches Processing Milestone

Following benchmark testing, Fundtech has announced its ability to process over one million payments in an 8-hour business day through its Global PAYplus solution. Conducted in cooperation with Sun Microsystems, these benchmark tests confirm that Fundtech’s Global PAYplus solution can support significant payment volumes for domestic and global banks, said the firm. The benchmark tests, which concluded in late 2002, were conducted using two Sun Fire 6800 servers. The testing also incorporated the XA industry standard for implementing two phases of a transaction involving more than one data source. This standard ensures the integrity of processing in the event of any type of failure. Fundtech’s Global PAYplus processed 127,000 payments an hour. For each payment processed, 10-11 internal transactions were created and processed. The average transactions per second reached 394, according to the organisation.
