Virgin Mobile Employs TIBCO Billing Infrastructure
Virgin Mobile has employed TIBCO as an integration platform to enable the introduction of a new customer billing system. Virgin Mobile also plans to deploy TIBCO’s business-to-business infrastructure technology early next year to enable it to build a billing gateway for partner organizations. Virgin Mobile’s billing system is designed to handle mobile IP and content data services, providing the scalability necessary for a growing customer base, said TIBCO. Virgin Mobile wanted to integrate its new customer billing system with an existing CRM system and worked closely with TIBCO’s Professional Services Group in orchestrating a build-to-deployment time span of three months, said TIBCO. The project has consolidated three applications into one for all customer service agents and, as a result, it is already experiencing significantly reduced call durations, according to TIBCO.
