CheckFree i-Solutions and NTT DATA to Market e-Billing and Payment Solutions in Japan

NTT DATA Corporation has signed an agreement with CheckFree i-Solutions to develop e-billing solutions for the Japanese business and consumer markets. NTT DATA’s hopes to leverage CheckFree’s experience to provide a reliable and user-friendly e-billing solution at a lower cost and with shorter development cycles than other providers. Commenting on the agreement, Steve Wright, Director of Global Marketing at CheckFree i-Solutions, said: ‘NTT DATA sees the adoption of electronic billing and payment to be a strategic part of its offering to billers and financial services providers.’ According to NTT DATA, Japan’s high Internet penetration and increasing requirement for advanced e-billing services means that billers require a higher level of value-added functionality. The organisation expects to bring services to market rapidly with a wide range of added-value applications and low overall total cost of ownership.
