UK Charity Deploys EigerPAY Gateway

Plan International, the humanitarian, child-focused development organisation, has successfully completed the deployment of EigerPAY Gateway from Eiger Systems. EigerPAY Gateway will enable Plan International to utilise BACSTEL-IP, the new payment submission platform from BACS, scheduled to replace the existing BACSTEL service by 31st December 2005. Plan International is heavily reliant on donations made by members of the general public to support its work. A significant element of this is child sponsorship and because donors typically pay a fixed monthly sum, it was imperative that the transition to BACSTEL-IP did not impact on the charity’s processing of over 1,000,000 Direct Debits each year. As with most charities, Plan International is also conscious of its responsibility to minimise its administrative overheads and maximise the value of every donation.
