Aconite Expands Global EMV and Smart Card Solutions Expertise
Aconite Technology has appointed a senior consultant, David Worthington, as part of its international expansion plans to meet growing demand for EMV technology know-how in the UK, Middle East, Asia and Canada. David brings over 17 years experience in smart card and EMV technology to Aconite, most recently as a banking technology advisor for the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency and Central Bank. The company said the appointment of David Worthington would support its expanding consulting services, as banking and retail sectors migrate to full EMV adoption. Visa predicts that, by the end of 2005, nearly 90 per cent of European Visa cards will carry an internationally interoperable chip – requiring substantial investment in technology and consultancy by card-issuers.
