SWIFT Announces New CEO Lázaro Campos

The SWIFT chairman and board of directors have announced that Lázaro Campos, currently SWIFT executive committee member and head of the banking industry division, will succeed Leonard H. Schrank as chief executive officer from 23 April 2007. Leonard H. Schrank will step down after 15 years as SWIFT’s longest serving CEO. Campos joined SWIFT in 1987 and has served in his current position since 2003. In 2000, Campos was promoted to the executive committee and head of marketing. He has over 20 years’ experience in international banking and financial services having held a number of commercial and product posts across SWIFT including market infrastructure projects, product management, education and standards. Before joining SWIFT, Campos served in the international division of Banc Agricol.
