Alliance Trust and German Insurers Select SimCorp's Investment Management System

Alliance Trust has placed a mandate with SimCorp to develop its use of the Dimension investment management system. With a net asset value of around £2.8bn, Alliance Trust will use new modules to support its front office in both Dundee and Hong Kong including portfolio management and modelling, trade order management and performance attribution. This order follows the implementation of the Dimension back office modules that support the asset management process, including trade processing, corporate actions, dividend processing and reporting. Implementation of the back office modules was completed in Q4 2006. With the front office deployment, Alliance Trust has a single platform upon which to manage its assets. There has also been a new order for SimCorp Dimension from Germany. Within the scope of two German public insurers – SV SparkassenVersicherung and Provinzial NordWest group – the assets of Provinzial NordWest will now be managed using SimCorp Dimension. SV SparkassenVersicherung has been using SimCorp Dimension since 2002. The order follows the joint venture Versicherungs-Assetmanagement GmbH (VersAM) that was founded for the asset management of both insurers. The usage of the solution ranges from portfolio and risk management to performance measurement. The use of the international accounting (IFRS) module is also planned.
