CRESTCo Changes Name to Euroclear UK & Ireland
From 1 July, CRESTCo will change its legal and operating name to ‘Euroclear UK & Ireland Limited’. The name change signifies CRESTCo’s complete integration within the Euroclear group of international and national central securities depositories. Business with Euroclear UK & Ireland will not change from how it was previously carried out with CRESTCo. Euroclear UK & Ireland will continue in its role as the central securities depository for the UK and Ireland, respectively, and will continue to operate the real-time settlement system called CREST. Reference to ‘CREST’ as the company’s processing system will be maintained until at least the launch of Euroclear’s Single Platform in 2009/2010.
