Western Union Appoints Hillered as SVP Europe and CIS

Western Union has appointed Jan Hillered as senior vice president, Europe and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), reporting to Hikmet Ersek who is executive vice president and managing director of Western Union’s EMEA-APAC region. Hillered’s organisation will span three sub-regions: western, central and eastern Europe & CIS. With more than 115,000 agent locations, the region covers about 30% of the Western Union agent network.

Previously, Hillered was Western Union’s senior vice president for central and eastern Europe and CIS. Prior to joining Western Union, he worked for 10 years for the Dutch ING group, holding a number of senior management positions. He also worked for 10 years at Nordbanken, first at the headquarters in Sweden and later at Nordbanken’s Hong Kong branch.
