RBS Restructures Global Transaction Services Division

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) announces a new product structure for the Global Transaction Services (GTS) division. The new strategy for GTS combines the global product group into one channel to further improve customer efficiencies – focusing on working capital optimisation, risk mitigation, improving liquidity and ultimately driving profitability. Ron Kalifa, head of global products, GTS will lead the combined international cash management, global trade finance and global merchant services & commercial cards (GMS&CC) teams.

Kalifa’s new role will be to further improve product synergies and cross-selling across all divisions including international cash management, global trade finance and GMS&CC. He has over 20 years experience within the bank and has held several roles, previously managing director GMS&CC.

The following members of the management team will report into Kalifa:

  • Adnan Ghani, head of global trade finance, GTS – Ghani will be managing the trade portfolio, including trade services, trade finance and supply chain finance, incorporating the MaxTrad product across all services. Previous to this role, he was head of trade asset management, part of the trade finance team.
  • Raghav Prasad, head of global merchant services, GTS – Prasad’s new role will be to manage the merchant acquiring businesses, including the RBS WorldPay product. Previously, he was head of global commercial cards.
  • David Rockcliff, head of global commercial cards, GTS – Rockcliff’s new role will be to manage the commercial cards business. He previously headed the global travel money services division, which will continue to report to him.
  • David Manson, head of international cash management, GTS – Manson’s group is responsible for managing the bank’s provision of payments and global treasury and investment management solutions for both corporates and financial institutions. Manson has more than 20 years’ experience in international banking.
