gtnews Appoints Cesar Bacani as Asia Bureau Chief

gtnews is pleased to announce that Cesar Bacani is now working as our Asia Bureau Chief. This new role has been created to ensure that gtnews has a physical presence in this important financial region, especially as gtnews readership in Asia has increased rapidly over the past two years.

Bacani will be commissioning articles for the gtnews Asia section and acting as the primary gtnews editorial contact in the region. In addition, he will be writing a new monthly commentary on Asian treasury issues that will be featured in the new gtnews Asia Bulletin, which will be launched in September.

Bacani is managing partner at The Editors Group. A Filipino citizen and permanent resident of Hong Kong, Bacani was personal finance editor and senior business editor at Asiaweek, which was part of the Time Warner group. During his 13 years at the magazine, he was based in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. He was responsible for managing the team that produced the magazine’s annual rankings of Asia’s 1,000 largest companies and 500 biggest banks, as well as the lists of the best universities and MBA schools. He was also a contributing editor for CFO Asia and CFO China. Bacani is the author of The China Investor: Getting Rich with the Next Superpower, which was published by John Wiley & Sons.
