WorldHeart Appoints Morgan Brown as VP of Finance and CFO

WorldHeart, a pioneer in cardiac assist technologies, has appointed Morgan Brown as executive vice president (VP) and chief financial officer (CFO). Brown brings over 16 years of experience to WorldHeart. In addition to his other duties, he will manage the move of the WorldHeart headquarters from Oakland, California to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Brown joins from Lifetree Clinical Research where he was CFO and senior VP since 2008. While at Lifetree Clinical Research, he oversaw the accounting, finance, human resource, facility and information technology departments.

Previously, Brown was with NPS Pharmaceuticals from 2000 to 2008, where he served as VP finance and treasurer. Prior to that, he worked for KPMG in Salt Lake City. Brown managed multiple audit engagements, servicing private and publicly owned clients.

Brown is a licensed certified public accountant in Utah and earned a MBA from the University of Utah and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Utah State University.
