Bank of New York Promotes Bessant to President of Global Corporate Banking

Cathy Bessant, previously head of global product solutions, has been promoted to president of global corporate banking, which is a part of the global corporate & investment banking business. Under Bessant’s leadership, this business will include both the corporate banking coverage officers as well as the product development and delivery capabilities that have most recently been a part of global product solutions (GPS).

Bessant will work in close partnership with banking group heads to ensure continuation of the fully integrated corporate and investment banking coverage model, and corporate bankers will continue operating as an integral part of the industry and regional banking teams as they have in the past.

With this change, portions of GPS will be realigned to global commercial banking under David Darnell and to technology and operations under Jim Kelly.
