Central Garden & Pet Appoints Jeffrey Blade as CFO

Central Garden & Pet Company has appointed Jeffrey Blade as chief financial officer (CFO), reporting to William Brown, chairman and chief executive.

Prior to joining Central, Blade served as the interim president of The Steak ‘N Shake Company, a publicly-traded restaurant company. He previously served as its chief financial and administrative officer. Other prior professional assignments include Cott Beverages, a provider of premium private label retail beverage products, where he served as the CFO of its US operations, and Kraft Foods, a manufacturer and marketer of food and beverage products, where he held positions of increasing importance in its finance organisation. Prior to Kraft Foods, Blade was part of the audit practice at Price Waterhouse.

Blade holds a BSc from Butler University and a MBA degree from the JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. He is also a certified public accountant (CPA).
