Risk Management Association Elects New Chair and Vice Chair

Malcolm Griggs, managing director, Morgan Stanley, Purchase, NY, has been elected chair of the Risk Management Association (RMA), and David Coxon, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of RockBridge Commercial Bank, Atlanta, Ga, was elected as vice chair. Their one-year terms began on 1 September 2009.

An active member of RMA since the early 1990s, Griggs formerly was chair of RMA’s Enterprise Risk Management Council. He is a member of RMA’s New York Chapter. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2009, Griggs served in a variety of senior corporate positions at Wachovia, Fifth Third Bancorp and Bank of America. Griggs holds a bachelor’s degree and a juris doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Coxon has been an RMA member since 1981. He served as chair of RMA’s Community Bank Council and also chaired RMA’s Atlanta Chapter. The new vice chair joined RockBridge Commercial Bank in 2009. Before that, he was president and CEO at Southern Community Bank and United Community Bank. He also has worked at Columbus Bank and Trust, BankSouth and United Bank. Coxon graduated from Columbus State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and earned a master’s degree in management from Mercer University.
