Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Adopts SaaS SEPA Payments Solution
Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) has become the first financial institution to adopt PELICAN for SEPA software as a service (SaaS). The service is offered jointly by ACE Software Solutions (ACE) and Capgemini BAS B.V., a subsidiary of the Capgemini Group.
Initially, BTMU has adopted the service in the Netherlands, for Amsterdam and Paris. Following this implementation, the service will be rolled-out to branches in London and the rest of BTMU’s European network.
ACE says that the platform enables differentiated payment services by facilitating new, automated service levels at lower costs. The SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) initiative is also supported by PELICAN for SEPA. This enables direct debit originators to collect euro payments on any of the SEPA countries, including their own domestic direct debits using a single service, rather than the country specific service in use today.
