Nissan Hires Ex-GM CFO Joe Peter
Nissan Motor has appointed Joseph ‘Joe’ Peter as chief financial officer (CFO), who will take up the role as of 1 December. He succeeds Alain Dassas, who will return to France at the end of his assignment to work on special projects.
Peter, currently vice president and CFO of international operations for General Motors in Shanghai, will be responsible for financial strategy, treasury, tax, capital markets, sales financing operations, and investor relations. He will be based in Yokohama, reporting directly to Carlos Ghosn, Nissan president and chief executive.
Peter was with General Motors for 25 years. During his tenure, he served in several executive positions in finance, including vice president and CFO for Saab Automobile in Sweden, GM Daewoo Auto & Technology in South Korea, and GM North American Operations in the US, prior to his most recent role.
