Mariner Energy Announces Senior Management Changes
Mariner Energy, an independent oil and gas exploration, development and production company headquartered in Houston, Texas, has appointed R. Cris Sherman as vice president and chief accounting officer (CAO). Sherman is currently a partner at the professional services firm Sirius Solutions, which he joined in 2004 after more than 20 years of experience in various accounting positions. He obtained his bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from Texas A&M University and is a certified professional accountant (CPA).
John Karnes, Mariner’s senior vice president (SVP), chief financial officer (CFO) and treasurer, is leaving the company to pursue other interests. Jesus Melendrez, Mariner’s SVP – corporate development, has been named SVP and chief commercial officer (CCO) and will serve the additional roles of acting CFO and treasurer.
