Emirates Shipping Line Selects GT Nexus for eCommerce Gateway

Emirates Shipping Line has selected GT Nexus to provide transactional e-commerce services for the carrier’s global customers. The ocean carrier will integrate its back office systems with the portal to enable web-based paperless business transactions with shipper and forwarder customers around the world.

The GT Nexus trade and logistics portal combines two things – business applications and a network of importers, exporters, carriers, 3PLs, and banks. All capabilities are delivered via the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, which allows customers to get up and running quickly and cost effectively. Carriers integrate to the GT Nexus portal once and then use that single standardised interface to exchange business information with thousands of global customers.

“We recognise that our customers put a premium on advanced technology,” said Romi Kaushal, chief executive officer (CEO) of Emirates Shipping Line. “We selected GT Nexus because they are one of the key technology standards for the ocean industry. This will help us better serve our customers, many of who have already standardised on GT Nexus for ocean freight management.”
