Telenor Group Appoints Richard Olav Aa as CFO

Telenor Group has appointed Richard Olav Aa as executive vice president (EVP) and chief financial officer (CFO). He will be responsible for Telenor’s financial management and be part of the group executive management.

Since 2007, Aa been investment director in Arendals Fossekompani. He was responsible for the company’s industrial and financial engagements. In connection with this position, he has held a number of board appointments. He has held management positions in Elkem, both in Norway and the US, and he was the CFO of Elkem from 1999 to 2005. He has also been managing director of Norsk Vekst from 2005 to 2007 and EVP for business development in Bertel O Steen.

Aa has a MSc in Business and Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen, specialising in strategies and finance.
