Thomson Reuters Adds Company Events to Machine Readable News Offering
Thomson Reuters has expanded its machine-readable news offering to include real-time analysis of company events. Thomson Reuters NewsScope Company Events will provide clients low latency distribution of key data from US company press releases. The solution will scan and automatically extract critical pieces of information from corporate announcements for clients to use in a machine-readable format. Leveraging Thomson Reuters OneCalais service, NewsScope Company Events eliminates all manual processes in order to provide clients with the fastest and most extensive coverage of this critical market moving information.
Clients will gain access to data points from company news releases in the US so they can be incorporated into a firm’s event-driven trading strategy. The information will be delivered in an XML format via Thomson Reuters NewsScope Direct, the firm’s ultra-low latency news distribution platform. In addition, clients will have access to nearly seven years of historical data, enabling them to back-test in their trading and investment strategies.
Rich Brown, global business manager, Machine Readable News, Thomson Reuters, said: “Similar to our NewsScope Economic Events, the automated processes of NewsScope Company Events are focused on delivering the fastest source of key market moving data to our customers. In addition to the timely data, we are committed to delivering the depth and breadth of content our customers need for successful event based trading strategies.”
Initially, NewsScope Company Events will focus on US newswires before expanding to Canada and Europe.
