Logica and Celona Partner to Counter Data Migration Business Risk
Logica, the IT and business services company, has formed an alliance with Celona, a data migration software firm. The partnership will offer execution of application data migration projects for clients across all industries and aims to enable companies to reduce business risk associated with their application data migration projects.
Data migration has been a long standing problem area for enterprises spanning telecoms, financial services, utilities, manufacturing and the public sector, with over 60% of migrations overrunning in time and cost, many programs of which result in failure across business sectors.
The partnership follows successful cooperation on several projects in the telecom and financial services sectors.
Craig Boundy, chief executive, global operations, Logica, said, “Understandably businesses want to be in control of their operations. Putting the board back in the driving seat when it comes to the migration process, rather than having it determined by IT needs, allows this to happen.”
