Bank of America Merrill Lynch Expands Treasury Services Team

Bank of America Merrill Lynch has announced six appointments to its global corporate banking treasury services team: Carlos Fernicola, Karen Marks, Paul Taylor, Alex Verbaeten and Alex Wong have joined the London team, and Andrej Ankerst has joined the Frankfurt team.

Fernicola and Marks have joined the deal assessment and proposal management team in the product management division. They report to Edward Aluise and Malcolm Wright, global product managers based in Charlotte and London, respectively. Ankerst and Verbaeten have joined as senior sales officers. They report to David Jackson, regional treasury sales manager (corporates) for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), based in London. Taylor has joined as regional treasury sales manager. He reports to Nick Diamond, global corporate banking treasury sales executive EMEA, based in London. Wong has joined as senior sales consultant. He reports to Melissa Loafman and Malcolm Wright, global product managers based in Dallas and London, respectively.

Ankerst has joined the bank after 13 years at Dresdner Kleinwort/Dresdner Bank in Germany, most recently as head of sales for global cash management. Prior to this, he was head of customer and transaction services for corporate banking.

Fernicola has joined the bank after 12 years at Citigroup, during which time he was based in two regions and worked in several countries. His most recent position was EMEA deal review process manager for global treasury services (GTS) based in London. Prior to this, Fernicola was a senior GTS business analyst and project manager.

Marks has joined the bank after 27 years at Barclays Commercial Bank, most recently as senior tendering manager. Prior to this, she was tender manager for large corporates.

Taylor has joined the bank after almost six years at VocaLink, most recently as European managing director. Prior to this, he was a strategy consultant at Deloitte.

Verbaeten has over 20 years’ experience in treasury management and has joined the bank from Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, where he was director of sales strategy and business planning for transaction banking. Prior to this, Verbaeten spent 10 years at Bank of America as senior vice president, global treasury sales.

Wong has joined the bank from Barclays Commercial Bank where he was senior product manager for international cash and trade. Prior to this, he spent five years at Bank of America as vice president and EMEA senior product manager in GTS.
