FRC Appoints Keith Barton to the Board for Actuarial Standards

The chairman of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), Sir Christopher Hogg, has announced the appointment of Keith Barton to the Board for Actuarial Standards
(BAS). The appointment is effective from 1 June 2010.

Barton has worked for Hewitt (formerly Bacon & Woodrow) since 1979 and has been a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries since 1981. He is scheme actuary to several large pension schemes, as well as a number of medium and smaller sized schemes. Barton is currently chairman of the Association of Consulting Actuaries; his term of office coming to an end on 31 May 2010.
