First American Names Buddy Piszel as CFO of Information Solutions Group

The First American Corporation, a provider of business information, has appointed Buddy Piszel as chief financial officer (CFO) of the company’s Information Solutions Group. Piszel will continue to serve as the parent company’s CFO. The company’s Financial Services Group will commence a search for his replacement as its CFO.

Piszel joined the company as CFO in January 2009. Prior to that, he was executive vice president (EVP) and CFO for Freddie Mac. His background also includes two years as CFO for Health Net and more than a decade at Prudential Financial, where he held numerous senior executive positions including senior vice president (SVP) and corporate controller, CFO of the individual life insurance business and CFO of the asset management and retirement business. During his tenure at Prudential, he also played a leading role in transforming Prudential from a private company to a public, SEC-registered company.

Piszel, who earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers University and an MBA from Golden Gate University, also serves on the board of directors of RehabCare Group and is chairman of that company’s audit committee.
