Coldwater Creek Promotes James Bell to CFO

Coldwater Creek, a retailer of women’s apparel, has promoted James Bell to senior vice president (SVP) and chief financial officer (CFO). He takes over from John Hayes III, who has been serving as interim CFO since November 2009. Hayes will continue as SVP, general counsel and secretary, and has taken on the additional responsibility of directing Coldwater Creek’s human resources department.

Bell has been a key member of Coldwater Creek’s corporate finance team since joining the company in September 2009, serving most recently as vice president – financial planning. Prior to joining the company, he served as SVP, finance and planning for Harry & David Holdings from 2007 to 2009, and as senior director, finance for The GAP from 2002 to 2007.

Bell holds a BS in economics from the US Naval Academy and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
