Tradeshift Launches E-invoicing Platform in Northern Europe
Tradeshift is launching a free electronic invoicing platform for small business, allowing them to easily connect and do business with their trading partners online. It will be available in Denmark from 18 May, UK & Ireland from 25 May and Germany from 1 June 2010, but is already signing up beta users now.
“I believe that modern business software has grown too complex and difficult to use for most businesses. Our goal was to create something extremely simple, that allows all small businesses to replace their paper processes with electronic ones,” said Tradeshift chief executive officer (CEO) Christian Lanng.
The European Commission has estimated that every year handling, transporting and creating paper invoices cost government and companies more than €64bn. On top of that comes the environmental cost of cutting down forest for paper, transporting it in trucks and printing and packaging.
