CFO Kurt Bock Appointed Chairman of BASF's Board of Executive Directors

BASF, a leading chemical company, has appointed chief financial director (CFO) Dr Kurt Bock to succeed Dr Jürgen Hambrecht as chairman of the board of executive directors. Dr Martin Brudermüller will become vice chairman.

As the CFO of BASF SE, Bock is responsible for finance, information services, corporate controlling and corporate audit. Since 2007 he has served as chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of BASF Corporation and has responsibility for the North American regional division and the catalysts operating division.

Bock started his career at BASF, first joining BASF Aktiengesellschaft’s finance division in 1985. In 1987 he became staff to BASF’s CFO; and in 1991 head of technology, planning and controlling, engineering plastics division, BASF Aktiengesellschaft. In 1992 he became senior vice president (SVP), finance at Robert Bosch; in 1994 he was SVP, finance and Accounting. In 1996 he became managing director of Robert Bosch in Brazil. In 1998 he became CFO of BASF Corporation in the US.
