Continental Airlines Uses TNS for Secure Payment Gateway Services
Continental Airlines, one of the largest international carriers in the US, has chosen the TNSPay gateway from Transaction Network Services (TNS) to authorise online payment transactions.
Under the terms of the agreement, Continental Airlines will process online payments from its reservations system through TNS’ Payment Card Industry (PCI)-certified TNSPay gateway. The gateway enables merchants to securely accept payments over the internet or any other payment application where the credit card is not physically present at the point-of-sale (POS), such as mail/phone order, call centres and recurring billing. It also provides merchants with a number of value-added capabilities to assist them in areas such as fraud prevention, risk management, card security, and management information and reporting.
Ron Anderson-Lehman, senior vice president and chief information officer (CIO) at Continental Airlines, said: “Selecting TNS and using a dedicated payment gateway will allow us to continue to deliver the same great service to our customers, but with many operational benefits. We will process millions of card-not-present transactions each year with TNS providing access to its global payments network. In addition, we will no longer need to divert resources to making payment scheme updates. TNS will take care of these, which will result in substantial cost savings. This allows Continental Airlines to focus on our core strengths and priorities.”
