Quadra FNX Mining Appoints Don MacDonald as CFO
Quadra FNX Mining, a Canadian mid-tier copper mining company, has appointed Robert (Don) MacDonald as chief financial officer (CFO). MacDonald takes over from Stuart McDonald, the former CFO Quadra and the interim CFO of Quadra FNX.
MacDonald has over 25 years experience in mine development, operation and financing. During his career he has been involved in the operation or development of 10 mines in North and South America, the completion of mine financings totalling over US$2bn and multiple merger and acquisition transactions. MacDonald was most recently CFO of NovaGold Resources (2003-2010), a company with two large development properties.
Prior to NovaGold, he was the CFO for a public biotech company (2001-2003), De Beers Canada Mining (formerly Winspear Diamonds) (1999-2001) and Dayton Mining (1991-1999), and vice president Finance of Granges Inc (1983-1991). MacDonald is a chartered accountant (CA), and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from Oxford University.
