Standard Chartered Private Equity Invests US$23m in Dasan Networks

Standard Chartered Private Equity (SCPE) has invested US$23m in Dasan Networks, a telecom network equipment and solution company in Korea. Headquartered in Bundang, Korea, Dasan is an incumbent leader in Korea’s access network industry and serves blue chip clients such as Korea Telecom and SK Broadband.

Listed on Kosdaq in 2000, Dasan is one of the first companies to successfully penetrate international markets such as Japan and India. SCPE will invest in the forms of exchangeable bonds and convertible bonds. The new investments will enable the company to accelerate growth in international markets.

Charles Huh, managing director at Standard Chartered Private Equity Managers Korea, said: “We are delighted to become an investor in Dasan Networks. Dasan is well positioned to benefit from the growing demands for access network equipments in both the Korean and international markets. We will assist Dasan to expand in the international market space and support the company to establish long-term relationships with global telecom operators.”
