The Pantry Names Mark Bierley to Succeed Frank Paci as CFO
The Pantry, an independently-operated convenience store chain in the southeastern US, has appointed Mark Bierley as senior vice president (SVP) and chief financial officer (CFO), effective 27 September 2010. Bierley will replace Frank Paci, who is resigning to pursue other interests. After his resignation, Paci has agreed to provide transition consulting services until 31 December 2010.
Bierley joins The Pantry from Borders Group, where he has been chief operating officer (COO) and CFO since June 2010. At Borders since 1996, Bierley progressed through a variety of financial management positions, including executive vice president (EVP) and CFO from January 2009 through June 2010, and SVP, finance from 2003 through 2008.
Prior to working with Borders, Bierley held positions in the financial departments for Dunham’s Athleisure Corporation, a midwest sporting goods and apparel retain chain, and Federal-Mogul, a global automotive parts manufacturer. Bierley started his career as an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Detroit, Michigan, where he served clients in a range of sectors including retail, manufacturing and not-for-profit.
Bierley holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and a MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
