dbc SMARTsoftware Acquires Thede Ward Systems

dbc SMARTsoftware (dbc), an OpenLink company that provides solutions for the global agriculture and soft commodity markets, has acquired Thede Ward Systems (TWS), the London, Ontario-based agribusiness solutions company. The acquisition of TWS will extend dbc’s reach into the agronomy industry and provide industry participants with advanced technology for customer self-service portals, including access from mobile devices.

“Our vision is to provide solutions for every stage of the agribusiness value chain – especially where commodities are transformed or change ownership,” said Henry Bonner, chief executive officer (CEO) of dbc. “This acquisition is part of a larger strategic roadmap for complete decision support and commodity management across the business cycle, particularly as the industry becomes more vertically integrated.”
