Silver Spring Networks Names John Joyce as CFO
Silver Spring Networks, a smart grid solution provider, has named John Joyce as chief financial officer (CFO) and vice chairman. Joyce succeeds Warren Jenson, who is now the company’s chief operating officer (COO).
Joyce enjoyed a 30-year career at IBM Corporation. During his tenure at IBM, he served in a variety of capacities, most recently as senior vice president (SVP) and group executive for IBM Global Services and as SVP and CFO. Prior to these appointments, Joyce served as president of IBM Asia-Pacific. Most recently, he spent five years as a managing director of Silver Lake Partners, a technology investment firm with over US$14bn in assets under management.
Joyce will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s financial operations and take an active leadership role in strategy development, international growth and customer engagements. In addition to his role at Silver Spring, Joyce serves on the board of directors of the Hewlett-Packard Company (HP).
