Fitch Appoints David Weinfurter as Head of Global Financial Institutions Groups
Fitch Ratings has appointed David Weinfurter as group managing director and head of its global bank and non-bank financial institutions rating group. In this newly-created position, Weinfurter will be based in London and report to group managing director Charles Prescott.
Weinfurter was most recently Fitch’s head of strategy and corporate development, advising senior management and the board of directors on key issues facing Fitch. He has played a leadership role on numerous global regulatory issues, as well as on Fitch’s efforts to enhance the reliability, relevance and transparency of ratings and research.
Prior to joining Fitch in 2003, Weinfurter was a senior consultant with Marakon Associates, a boutique management consultancy. Previously, he served as special assistant to the Undersecretary for Economic Affairs in the US Department of Commerce.
