Omega Protein Promotes Bret Scholtes to CFO
Omega Protein, a producer of Omega-3 fish oil and specialty fish meal products, has promoted Bret Scholtes to chief financial officer (CFO), effective 1 January 2011. Mr. Scholtes currently serves as senior vice president (SVP) – corporate development, a position he has held since April 2010.
From 2006 to April 2010, Scholtes served as vice president – origination at GE Energy Financial Services, a global energy investment firm. Prior to that, Scholtes held finance positions with two publically traded energy companies. He also has five years of public accounting experience. Scholtes holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Missouri, and a MBA from New York University.
The company’s current CFO, Robert Stockton, is retiring but will continue to consult with Omega Protein on financial and strategic issues.
