Empire Resorts Appoints Laurette Pitts as CFO

Empire Resorts has appointed Laurette Pitts as chief financial officer (CFO). Pitts will be responsible for accounting, finance, public company reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance. She will be also be responsible for operational and financial accounting including financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable (A/P), purchasing, warehouse and payroll.

For the past two years, Pitts was regional vice president of finance and administration for American Racing and Entertainment. She previously was employed as CFO for Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, from April 2005 until November 2008.

Pitts has held a variety of senior financial positions with Seneca Allegany Casino, Mystic Lake Casino & Hotel, and The Tunica Sheraton Casino and at Harrah’s properties in Tunica, Memphis and Atlantic City. She received her MBA from Metropolitan State University in St Paul Minnesota and her BA degree in accounting from Stockton State College in Pamona, New Jersey.
