Niska Gas Storage Appoints Vance Powers as CFO

Niska Gas Storage Partners has appointed Vance Powers as chief financial officer (CFO). Powers succeeds Darin Olson, who continues as vice president, finance. Powers has served Niska as a finance management consultant since April 2010, assisting in the completion of Niska’s initial public offering (IPO), its transition to a publicly-traded Master Limited Partnership and its establishment of an investor relations function.

Prior to joining Niska, he served as vice president, finance and controller of Buckeye Partners, a large US refined petroleum products pipeline and terminal company, from 2002 to May 2009. He also served Buckeye as acting CFO from July 2007 until November 2008. He held similar positions with Buckeye’s general partner, Buckeye GP Holdings, and participated in that company’s IPO in August 2006.
