RBS Appoints Scott Barton as CEO of GTS

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has appointed Scott Barton as chief executive officer (CEO) of the global transaction services (GTS) division. Barton will report to Chris Sullivan, CEO, corporate banking division, RBS, and will work closely with Brian Stevenson, previously CEO and now chairman of GTS.

Barton has 16 years of banking experience with RBS and previously served as CEO of the RBS large corporate division.

In his new role as chairman Stevenson will work with industry participants, market infrastructure bodies, regulators and technology providers to assess how best GTS can work with these providers to meet objectives.
