gtnews Launches Risk Management Course

gtnews has launched a two-day risk management course, to be held in Brussels on 1-2 March 2011. Recognising that risk management has evolved into one of the most important functions of corporate treasury teams, this course is designed to help corporate treasurers, and those who work with them, improve their risk management skills.

The two-day, workshop-style course will allow participants to:

• Establish a risk management framework, identifying and defining individual risk types and exposures.
• Understand the latest exposure management techniques and look at what is best for their company.
• Understand different ways of implementing a company risk management policy.

Course tutors Richard Roering and Laurens Tijdhof will examine the full spectrum of financial risks, including foreign exchange (FX) risk, interest rate risk, credit risk and commodity risk. The course will also cover the mechanics, application and valuation of a wide range of derivatives, as well as how to measure exposures and understand effective hedging strategies.
