HSBC Appoints Shayan Hazir as Head of Business Banking
HSBC has appointed Shayan Hazir as head of business banking within global payments and cash management, Asia-Pacific. Hazir’s appointment highlights HSBC’s commitment to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the region.
Based in Hong Kong, Hazir will be responsible for aligning global payments and cash management strategies with the bank’s business banking franchise in order to provide integrated cash management solutions to a range of small and medium businesses across the region. In this new role, he will oversee all aspects of the global payments and cash management business for this customer segment including product development, client management and business development throughout Asia-Pacific.
In his previous role within HSBC’s global commercial banking team, Hazir was global project manager, responsible for aligning business banking propositions with the bank’s product development strategy. He has also previously held positions with HSBC in Pakistan as head of business banking and head of sales for global payments and cash management, in addition to having worked in sales and brand management with Unilever Pakistan.
