HSBC Trade and Supply Chain Appoints Mark Emmerson as Head of Europe

HSBC has appointed Mark Emmerson as regional head of trade and supply chain for HSBC Europe. Emmerson succeeds Stuart Nivison, who has been selected as global head of audit for commercial banking, trade and supply chain, and global payments and cash management.

Previously, Emmerson was senior executive, head of corporate banking for HSBC Indonesia, where he was instrumental in leading his team through the challenge of the financial downturn before driving the expansion of the Indonesian franchise that re-established HSBC’s position as a key financial partner to many of Indonesia’s major corporate groups. He leaves behind a legacy that includes numerous industry accolades, such as multiple Best Trade Finance Bank and Best Cash Management Bank titles, as well as a team that produced record growth in 2010.
