Kinross Gold Appoints Paul Barry as CFO
Kinross Gold, a Canadian-based gold mining company, has appointed Paul Barry as executive vice president (EVP) and chief financial officer (CFO). He is expected to join as of 31 March 2011. Barry replaces Thomas Boehlert, who will be leaving the company by mutual agreement to pursue other opportunities.
Barry joins Kinross following a distinguished career in the US. Since 2009, he has been an independent consultant in Washington, DC. From 2007 to 2009, Barry was senior vice president (SVP) and CFO of Pepco Holdings. From 2002 to 2007, he held several positions at Duke Energy Corporation, including most recently SVP and chief development officer (CDO). Previously, he held positions in business development and financial management at Amoco Corporation and General Electric Company.
Barry holds a BSc degree in finance from Northeastern University and a MBA degree from Harvard University.
