VocaLink and KIR Launch SCT Service Between Poland and the UK

VocaLink, an international payment provider, and Krajowa Izba Rozliczeniowa (KIR), the national clearing house for Poland, have activated a reciprocal link for the exchange of single euro payments area (SEPA) Credit Transfer (SCT) payments. This agreement is based on the European Automated Clearing House Association (EACHA) interoperability standards.

The reciprocal link enables VocaLink and KIR to exchange SEPA-compliant payment messages on behalf of their respective clients, thereby increasing both organisations reach within the eurozone.

Zygmunt Szafra?ski, vice president of the board of KIR, said: “Over the past three years we have been building on our SEPA product portfolio and the launch of interconnection with VocaLink is a natural step in increasing of EACHA reachability within the EuroELIXIR system. VocaLink is our second partner in EACHA interconnection network. This direct link between our CSM [clearing and settlement mechanism] communities will also further increase the importance of the EACHA framework.”
