ANZ Enhances Global FX Strategy with First Derivatives

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) is now live with First Derivatives’ Delta Stream market data capture and analytics solution for its electronic foreign exchange (eFX) business. ANZ eFX now has greater computational power, flexibility and speed to rapidly produce complex analytics to enhance its real-time FX trading operations.

ANZ has deployed First Derivatives’ Delta Stream (which is powered by the kdb+ database – developed by Kx Systems) in its Melbourne and Sydney trading centres, with access available to remote users as the system uses a web browser front-end to access and chart the analytics.

“This has been a very successful implementation for ANZ eFX,” said Luke Marriott, global head eFX and franchise, ANZ. “We have aggressive timelines and exacting standards. After a rapid selection process starting in late 2010, First Derivatives assisted with the evaluation, implementation and integration in a rapid timeframe of less than two months to enable live market data capture with full order book depth. We are continuing to work with specialist consultants alongside our team to roll out further analytics and graphical views of the real-time trading data that were not previously possible for us to visualise.”
